Our Staff


David Sons - Lead Pastor

David is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio but has spent most of his life in the Carolinas. David graduated from North Greenville University in 2008, with a B.A. in Communications, and received his Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He was ordained into full-time vocational ministry at the First Baptist Church of North Augusta, SC, in May 2010. David came to Lake Murray in June of 2015.

David is married to Allyson and they have three sons, Titus, Max, and Silas. He enjoys time with his family, reading great books, watching good movies, and playing mediocre basketball. 

David Bennett - Connections Pastor

David Bennett was born and raised in Rock Hill, SC. David graduated from Clemson University in 2013 with a B.A. in Communication Studies. He graduated from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Masters of Divinity in Christian Ministry in December 2016. He was ordained to the ministry at his home church, First Baptist Church Rock Hill. David previously served as the Student Pastor at North Rock Hill Church.

David met his wife, Katie, through Baptist Collegiate Ministries while she was attending North Greenville University and they were married in November 2014. David has a passion to see students grow deep in their relationship with Christ and be mobilized for mission in whatever setting God has placed them.

Ministry Staff 

Justin Putnam - Worship Leader 

Justin is from Camden, South Carolina. Justin earned his bachelor's degree in biology from the South Carolina Honors College at USC. Justin’s love for music, devotion to the Lord, and a calling to serve the church have led him to pursue music ministry as a full-time career. Justin’s talent and experience are both tremendous, but most importantly he loves Jesus and desires to lead the church in genuine worship.

Justin and his wife, Cydney, were married in December, 2020.

Matt Kilgore - Next Generation Director

Matt was born in Lexington, SC, and lived there until 2018 when he moved to Louisville, KY to attend Southern Seminary. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina where he studied History and he is currently working on his Master of Divinity at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Matt was ordained at Eighteen Mile Baptist Church in LaGrange, KY where he served as the sole pastor for a year and a half before coming to Lake Murray.

Matt and his wife Samantha were married in September 2020. Matt is passionate about teaching the Bible and seeing a church that makes disciples who go on to make disciples. He enjoys spending time at coffee shops reading and spending time with his wife Samantha

Betsy Eubanks - Director of Children's Ministry 

Betsy grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina, but has called Lexington home for more than 25 years. She attended Midlands Technical College and considers herself to be a life-long learner. She enjoyed homeschooling her children for several years while co-founding a local homeschool co-op. Betsy brings strength in administration and problem solving along with a heart to serve children and families to her position. She finds great joy in seeing children grow in their knowledge of the Lord and understanding of the Gospel.

Betsy and her husband, Chip, were married in 1993 and have 3 children, Ben, Ashley, and Owen. In her free time, you will find Betsy reading a good book, trying a new recipe, or spending time with her family.

Wendy Isgett - Office Administrator

Wendy grew up in Darlington, SC, and moved to Columbia to attend the University of South Carolina. She graduated in 1995 with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and obtained her CPA license in 1999. Wendy married her high school sweetheart, Robbie, and they have two sons: Dylan and Clayton.

Support Staff

Susan Sisk - Ministry Assistant

Susan grew up with her twin sister in Orangeburg, SC. She graduated from Winthrop in 1985 with a degree in Interior Design. After living in Charleston, SC and Charlotte, NC she moved to Chattanooga, TN; which is where she turned her life over to Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.  Susan has called Lexington home since 1998.  She brings creativity and computer skills as well as a love of serving others to her position as a ministry assistant. She has one son, Griffin.
