COVID-19 Update 03/30/20

Lake Murray Baptist Church Plans, Resources, and Encouragements

“He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God. Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us.” – Psalm 62:6-8

Dear Lake Murray Baptist Church Family,

With the continued spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus) across our state and nation, we are doing our best as a church to stop the spread of the virus within our congregation and community. This has led us to make the decision to continue our suspension of all on-campus activities through at least Sunday, April 5th, 2020. This decision has been made in an effort to abide by recommendations made by Governor McMaster, state health officials (SCDHEC), and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

  • We will continue to stream our Sunday morning worship service online this Sunday (4/5/20). We encourage you and your family to gather together in your home at 10:45AM this week to hear a word from the Lord as Pastor Josh continues preaching through our Greatest Chapters in the Bible series. You will be able to access the sermon online at the church website or on Facebook through Facebook live.
  • Our Wednesday night Bible Study through the Old Testament will continue on Facebook live, this Wednesday night (4/1/20) at 6:30PM. This teaching time will also be available afterwards on the church website.
  • We are continuing to upload content this week to our newly commissioned Lake Murray Baptist Church Podcast. This will include Sunday sermons, Wednesday night Bible study, and interviews with our pastoral staff and other guests. You can download the Lake Murray Baptist Church podcast to your smart-phone or device through the Apple podcast app, Google Play, Spotify, or on the church website.
  • We will be continuing to minister to those who have specific prayer and physical needs during this time. If you, or another member you know, has a specific need that the staff can address, please email   with your request.
  • Please continue to faithfully and generously give of your tithes and offerings to the Lord these next few weeks. Although we will not be physically gathering this week the ministry of the church goes on. There are several avenues for giving available to you including text to give, online giving, and giving by mail. For more information about how to give go to the church website and click the giving tab on the homepage.

This is a developing situation and we are continuing to assess the information provided to us by our state officials regarding the spread of the virus across our community and state. We ask that our members continue to pray for those affected by the virus, healthcare workers who are treating the sick, and our elected officials as they seek to make wise decisions regarding public health.  Thank you as well for your patience and your prayers for church leadership as we seek to make decisions for our church that are wise, discerning, and God-glorifying.
