Here are a few things that we would encourage all of our members to do over the next few weeks as we seek to care for one another:
- Pray that the Lord would provide healing for those who are infected, protect those who are not, and prevent further transmission of the virus. Pray for healthcare workers as they seek to care for and treat those affected. Pray for the leaders of our state, local, and federal governments as they seek to curb the spread of the coronavirus and develop a vaccine.
- Prepare (but don't panic). Wash your hands. Practice social distancing. Make sure you have enough food and supplies (but don't hoard) for a week or two at home. Listen to reputable news and health organizations (not social media). Use common sense health practices and precautions.
- Check-in on an elderly or chronically ill neighbor, friend, or church member. Ask them if they need anything or if you can make a trip to the store for them.
- Be ready to use this as an opportunity to have gospel conversations with anxious neighbors, friends, or co-workers. At times like these people are open to hearing the good news of the gospel. Don't waste an opportunity to testify to the hope that is within you (1 Peter 3:15).
