Our Core Beliefs
We believe that the Holy Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God and is the foundation of our faith. We believe that Scripture is the authority that governs all of our practices. We believe that it is our duty and privilege to share the death and resurrection of Christ as the joy of all believers and the hope of all peoples. We believe that believer's baptism and the Lord's Supper are the two ordinances of the church.
We believe and affirm that the Holy Bible is God’s inerrant Word, written by men through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit (2 Pet 1:16-21). We believe that Jesus Christ is the central figure of the Bible and that the purpose of the Scriptures is to draw our eyes and hearts to Him (John 5:39). We believe the scriptures, in conjunction with the Holy Spirit, to be sufficient for the equipping of the saints (2 Ti 3:16-17) and the conversion of the unbeliever (Rom 10:17). The Bible is the foundational text for our preaching, fellowship, and mission.
We believe that the Word of God is the ultimate authority in our lives (Rom 13:1). Therefore, we submit our thoughts and actions in humble obedience to God’s word revealed to us in the Scriptures (Heb 4:12). We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, infallible Word of God; therefore, to disregard, disbelieve, or disobey the Bible is to disregard, disbelieve, or disobey God Himself.
We believe that salvation from sin and eternal life is exclusively found in Jesus Christ (John 14:6). The message of the gospel is that we are saved by grace alone (Eph 2:8-9), through faith alone (Gal 2:16), by Christ alone (Acts 4:12), for the glory of God alone (Phil 2:9-11), and not a result of our works (Titus 3:5). This message of hope is for all who believe and confess that Jesus is Lord (Rom 10:9-10). The gospel is the reason we exist as a church and the central motivation for all that we do.
We believe that the gospel is a message to be proclaimed by every believer (Rom 10:13-15). As those who have been redeemed by God’s grace, we have a responsibility and commission to share the good news of salvation through Christ alone (Matt 28:19-20). This responsibility extends to our homes, communities, nation, and to the very ends of the earth (Acts 1:8). We accomplish this work through the power of God’s Spirit and in obedience to His Word.
We believe and affirm the Baptist Faith & Message 2000 as a faithful summary of our local church values, practice, and governance. Our conviction and interpretation of the Scriptures leads us to practice baptism by immersion for those who confess Jesus as Lord and as a faithful testimony of redemption for church membership. We cooperate and contribute to the work of The Southern Baptist Convention for the sake of mission and the advancement of the Kingdom of God.
